Why Should I Buy a Home in Tucson?

Purchasing a home is the American dream. The image of a family standing in front of their own home with the white picket fence is what the American dream is all about.

You have grown up with your family and friends striving to own a home. A social status in the community, a piece to your life long puzzle, is what owning your own home is all about.

In your own home, you can paint your walls whatever color you’d like. You can tear down walls, you can turn on your radio as loud as you want (well as permitted by law), and it’s yours to do what you will with.

There are also many financial benefits that go into owning a home in a growing market. As the Tucson property market increases, your home is worth more. And purchasing a home in Arizona is one of the smartest decisions you can make. Arizona is as hot as it’s real estate market.

Where does your Tucson Home Searching Start?

The home search starts right here. If you are on this website, you have already started the home search. Using all the free tools online has made it easier than ever before to look at hundreds of available properties on the market. Tucson real estate listings are out there by the thousands.

Narrowing down your search criteria to the number of bedrooms you’d like, bathrooms, and other amenities, you will get to pinpoint selections even before you start talking to a Tucson real estate agent.

How Long Will It Take Me To Find A Home?

A motivated home buyer is likely to find a home in a couple weeks to a few days. It really depends on the market and the eagerness of the buyer.

In a buyers market, there are several homes to view that meet your criteria, it may take a little longer to make a final selection between the properties. Of course, a skilled real estate agent that has listened to your needs will only show you homes that meet your specific criteria. This goes beyond the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, but location, neighborhood, backyard specifics, specialized rooms, etc.

In a sellers market, fewer homes are looked at because there are fewer homes that meet your criteria; thus a home purchasing decision may be made sooner.

How Many Tucson Homes Will I See?

The average number of homes a buyer should view per day is 7. This is because the human memory can only remember so much detail in one day’s time. Overall, you may view 20-30 properties before selecting the right one for you.

If you walk into a home that you are not interested in seeing more of, let the agent know so the viewing process can move on.

If I Love It, Can’t I Just Buy It?

When you walk into the right property, you will know it. You will actually be emotionally connected to the property upon viewing it. If you love the property, and do not want to let it go, promptly speak to your real estate agent about your decision.

How Do I Keep Track Of Home Viewing?

Bring your camera! Also bring a notepad and pen with you during your home search. Take pictures of the property you are viewing, while noting the photo #, and alternative notes, on your notepad. This will help you recall the pros and cons of each property so you can make an informed decision on your home purchase. Be sure to note the neighborhood, location, and rate the home on a scale of 1-10 before you leave the property.

Should I see my final picks more than once?

If you are having a toss up between properties that you have viewed, by all means, ask to see the property a second time.

This time around, you are more likely to view elements that you overlooked the first time. At this point you want to check in with the sellers’ agent to see if an offer has been placed on the property.

Will I know when I’ve found the right house?

You will know. As a Tucson real estate agent, I usually know which property the buyer is going to purchase right when they walk into the home. Of course I don’t point this out because I want my buyers to make an informed decision on the property they are viewing.
